About The Course

The drivinghelp learner driver course is for United Kingdom car drivers.

Many people, particularly cash strapped teenagers, are put off having proper lessons because of the cost - and it certainly isn’t cheap. Using the drivinghelp course in conjunction with professional lessons may help you keep costs down substantially.

When all the lessons are available, it may be possible to pass your test using just this course and the assistance of a suitably qualified driver to supervise your lessons. However, we strongly recommend that you use this course in tandem with professional lessons from a qualified driving instructor (ADI).

If you are a complete beginner, let your instructor know you are using this course. If he objects, ask him why. It’s quite possible he will feel the methods in this course are at odds with his teaching methods and using both may confuse you. That’s a reasonable point of view, in which case use this course to practice between lessons and where methods clash with your instructor, use his methods.

However, if you find the methods in this course easier than your instructors, let him/her know. A good instructor will never, and I mean never, mind changing methods to suit the pupil. If he/she refuses, you need to consider changing instructors - good instructors are assessed on their ability to change teaching methods for the benefit of the pupil.

If you already have some driving experience, use this course to brush up and practice. You can probably ignore lessons 1 and 2. Show this course to whoever supervises you when you practice. Use the course to help you with any particular aspect of learning you are having difficulty with - such as a manoeuvre or roundabouts.

Whether or not you find this course helpful - good luck and remember to have patience in your learning. Trying to learn too quickly is the most common pitfall.
