Approach and turn left
MSPSL
Mirrors. Check interior and exterior left
Signal left
Position - normal driving position
Speed down - select correct gear (usually 2nd, 1st if tight). Clutch up before turn
Look - ahead to make sure no-one cutting across - into the junction to make sure no obstructions
Approach and turn right
MSPSL
Mirrors.Check interior and exterior right.
Signal right.
Position -Just left of centre - or follow road markings.
Speeddown - select gear, prepare to stop if necessary.
Lookahead to see if it's clear to turn, look into junction to make sure you can clear the main road when you've turned in. Check your mirrors again just before turning.
T-junction - left
MSPSL
Mirrors.Check interior and exterior left.
Signalleft.
Position- normal driving position - follow the kerb around.
Speed - Open or closed junction? Open junction, may approach in second gear if no need to stop. Closed junction, 1st gear.
Look -right and left before turning out. Be aware of pedestrians and keep an extra eye out for bikes.
T-junction - right
MSPSL
Mirrors.Check interior and exterior right.
Signalright.
Position- just left of centre, or follow road markings.
Speed -Open or closed junction? Open junction, may approach in second gear if no need to stop. Closed junction, 1st gear.
Look- right and left before turning out. Be aware of pedestrians and keep an extra eye out for bikes.
Crossroads
Approach junction using normal MSPSL.
Extra observations:
Extra observation right when turning left.
Look to left and right when going straight ahead on major road.
Extra observation left when turning right.
