Precis
Find a suitably parked car to reverse behind
Pull up well before the chosen car
When starting the manoeuvre make sure the road is clear well behind and ahead
Move slowly out and stop about a car door's width out and slightly forward of the car you are parking behind
Select reverse, find clutch biting point
360 degree observations
Slowly back until just before your point of turn
360 degree observations again
When the rear of your car is just beyond the car you are parking behind, steer one full turn to the left with the car slowly moving
Observations again
When exterior left mirror is in line with the offside corner of the car you are reversing behind, steer two full turns right with the car slowly moving
When car is almost parallel to the kerb, steer one full turn to the left to straighten the front wheels
Stop, handbrake on, select neutral.
Remember:You are reversing into a limited space. Do not steer with the car at a standstill. Extra observations and signal when moving away after the manoeuvre.
