9.2. Pedestrian crossings

Before taking this lesson, please read and agree to our Terms and Conditions

Suggested length - 1 1/2 hours

Suggested time depends upon location - you may need to travel some distance from your home to get to a built up area with all types of pedestrian crossing.

Introduction

Much of learning about pedestrian crossings is covered in your theory. However, I will cover the basics again here so that you can go out and practice with them fresh in your mind. Your examiner will not ask you to name the various types of pedestrian crossing, but he will expect you to react to them in a manner which shows you understand how they work and who has priority.

I strongly suggest reading this lesson before setting out and making sure you are familiar with the types of crossing. Then, when you are driving your mentor should ask you to point out when you see crossings, what type they are, whether you are likely to need to stop etc.
