Show me and tell me

The 'show me and tell me' element of the practical test consists of two questions the examiner will ask you before setting out on the drive.

They are designed to show that you have an understanding of basic car care - this is for safety reasons.

Failing to answer one or both questions will result in a minor fault. This doesn't mean you have failed (you are allowed 15 minor faults) but it's not a good way to start your test!

It's called 'show me and tell me' because on one of the questions you will just have to explain the answer - on the other you will actually be required to show the examiner how to do it.

The questions are chosen from a bank of thirteen questions. Click here for the list along with the correct answers.

All you have to do is learn the answers - it's not hard if you take the time to do it. There's really no excuse (other than nerves) for failing this part of the test!
